Akinator knows All

30Jan

Finding activities to keep the whole family entertained during the holidays can be difficult. Then I found the Akinator app. We played that game all night! Then I realized it can be set in Spanish and many other languages. Now I can entertain students…

Basically you choose a real or imaginary character, and then the Akinator will ask you questions. Eventually he guesses who you are thinking of. Students like to think they can stump him, but they can’t. I bought the app and I love using it on the iPads in class. Buy on iTunes My upper levels enjoy it the most. It’s a nice way to fill an extra 5 minutes at the end of class.

Or you can go to the website: http://es.akinator.com/

I tried using the Akinator app with my 8th graders. While they loved it, there were two extremely inappropriate questions. I received two parent complaints and now the site is blocked at my school. Be really careful using this in a classroom with students. Too bad, because it was a great site!

It asks for your age. Did you put in the age of the students? I imagine that might help it weed out inappropriate questions.

What do you think?
