5This is a great way to get students up and active, using the language, and reading other classmates’ opinions.
Day 1: Post several relevant questions on butcher paper around the room and students will be glad to do “written practice.”
Day 2: Let students walk around the room and read over each other’s answers. Give them little papers with the facebook thumbs up that say “I like” in your target language. Let them flag answers that they like.

I can’t read the little questions on the white strips of paper – would love to know some examples – and are they all in Spanish? I looked like one was in English…

Kim- Those were in English. They were the “can-do” objectives for a unit about entertainment. It’s so easy to use in the target language though. (I’m not sure why I didn’t!) For beginning level 1, I usually post question they are learning and they write on it the day we learn it. (¿De dónde eres?) it serves as a nice reminder and allows kids to see other examples. Each day we add a new poster. For level 2 (and the second half of level 1) I sometimes just post questions that push for more intermediate responses like “Describe tu pelicula favorita” or “¿Cuál es tu música preferida? ¿Por qué?
I think it helps motivate kids when I include questions that are kind of crazy and need info to back them up…
Like “which is better… Soccer or football -why?”
Do you have them all write an answer to the question or just have them do it if they want to ?
