Target hits the mark!

I went wandering through Target with my mom this afternoon and found some awesome things for the classroom! Some came from the dollar bins when you first come in the store and other treasures were found in the clearance sections in the back. Here’s what I picked up…

These little pieces will make a great addition to my classroom! Now… how to organize it all?!?

Happy shopping - Hope the tips help! :)

Awesome! My Target unfortunately didn’t have the fun Spanish incentives, but I totally bought some foam clocks! Since I have all upper level, I’m thinking of a relay challenge for review, where Students will line up in groups and each has an assigned time they have to put on the clock before they pass it to the next. Of course, I’ll have these for the future if/when I teach Spanish I again.

…I also bought a checklist dry erase board there to write/check-off objectives and the 80s themed magazine storage files.

Love the change to the blog. I can’t wait for the new school year to start to hear all your’s and Kara’s fun activities.

I totally bought the clocks just the other day! But I need to check out their school section and see if we have any fun Spanish incentives like you found! The bins are also a GREAT idea for stations, I have been looking for a good way to organize stations! I’d like to implement a lot more this year…maybe you could give us some tips on stations / ideas/ organization for them / etc.? :)

Thank you Megan. I went to Target today and I bought exactly the same supplies you did and probably a little bit more. This will be my first year as a middle school Spanish teacher in Houston, and I would like to get some ideas from you in how to set up stations in my classroom. I think stations or centers will be a good idea to keep my students on task, engaged, and also to keep my classroom organized. I would like my students to get the most benefits out of them. I am thinking about possible stations or centers such as reading, writing, games, listening, etc., but I would like to see your ideas first and then go from there. Thanks.

I love the new set up on the blog! Very chic! I find some really cool stuff in the dollar bins at every store. In fact, I go to Dollar Tree and Dollar General and get stuff from there. I bought No Homework tickets and some stamp pads there. They have a lot of paper, too, but get the card stock because their paper is really thin and it gets stuck in printers often! Thanks for all your ideas! I am using a lot of them this year!!!

I bought that same foam clock! However, I only bought one. Should I go back and get more?

And my Target — the one in what used to be Bashford Manor in Louisville — doesn’t have cool stickers in Spanish. Megan, do you have a more diverse Target to suggest?

I bought all of the same things at Target. I’ve been handing out the bookmarks as prizes and the stickers too.

What do you think?
